What this expression does
-(으)십시다 is the honorific of “let’s -합시다.” It’s used to formally propose doing something together in front of a group.
(among friends)
(a gathering or event)
찍다 — to take (a photo)찍으십시다
일어나다 — to stand up일어나십시다
Let’s begin the meeting now. — the meeting’s chair speaking
Let’s all take a picture together.
Let’s all stand up. — an event host speaking
Be careful using this with just one senior person. -(으)십시다 leads the other person into an action together, so it sounds natural when someone with a role (a host, a chair) says it to a group. For a single senior person, -(으)실까요? is softer.
(△ — feels like directing someone senior)
(○ — much softer)
