everykoreans(이하 "개발자")은 치즈감자 앱(이하 "앱")과 웹사이트 everykoreans.com(이하 "웹")을 이용하는 분의 개인정보를 소중히 다루며, 아래와 같이 처리합니다.

앱과 웹은 같은 계정을 씁니다. 앱에서 만든 계정으로 웹에 로그인할 수 있고, 그 반대도 됩니다. 단어장도 같은 것을 봅니다.

앱에는 광고·분석 도구가 없습니다(앱이 오류를 냈을 때 오류 내용만 이름 없이 남깁니다 — 2항). 웹은 사이트를 고치는 데 쓰려고 방문 분석 도구(Microsoft Clarity, Google 태그 관리자·Google 애널리틱스)를 씁니다. 무엇이 기록되는지는 아래 2항, 누구에게 가는지는 4항에 적었습니다. 사이트에 광고를 싣지 않으며, 정보를 팔지 않습니다.

2. 수집하는 항목

계정 정보 (회원가입 시)

구글 계정으로 로그인하는 경우, 구글로부터 이메일 주소·이름·프로필 사진을 전달받습니다. 구글 계정의 비밀번호는 전달받지 않습니다.

이메일 없이도 샘플을 내려받을 수 있습니다. 소식 메일을 받기로 한 분은 메일 아래의 수신 거부 링크 또는 cheesepotato@everykoreans.com 으로 요청하시면 삭제합니다. 신청 정보는 수신을 거부하거나 삭제를 요청할 때까지 보관하며 제3자에게 팔거나 넘기지 않습니다.

웹 자료마당에 올린 자료 (⚠️ 공개됩니다)

웹의 자료마당에 단어 자료를 올리면 아래 항목이 누구나 볼 수 있게 공개됩니다. 로그인하지 않은 사람도 보고 내려받을 수 있습니다.

올린 파일 자체는 저장하지 않습니다. 브라우저에서 단어와 뜻만 읽어내고 원본 파일은 그 자리에서 버립니다. 이메일 주소 전체는 공개되지 않습니다.

공개를 원하지 않으면 올리지 않으면 됩니다. 올린 뒤에도 본인이 언제든 삭제할 수 있습니다. 다만 이미 다른 사람이 내려받은 파일은 회수할 수 없습니다.

올린 자료는 본인이 지울 수 있고, 부적절한 자료는 개발자가 삭제합니다.

친구 초대 보상

초대 링크로 가입하면 누가 누구를 초대했는지(계정 번호 두 개와 날짜)와 보너스 Pro 기간을 서버에 저장합니다. 초대한 사람에게는 상대방의 이메일 · 이름이 보이지 않고, 계정을 지우면 함께 지워집니다.

TOPIK 쓰기 답안 공유 (선택 · ⚠️ 공개됩니다)

TOPIK 쓰기 53·54번을 AI 채점받은 뒤, 공유 체크박스를 직접 켜고 「올리기」를 누른 경우에만 쓴 글이 같은 문제 아래에 누구나 볼 수 있게 공개됩니다. 로그인하지 않은 사람도 볼 수 있습니다.

이름 · 이메일은 함께 공개되지 않고(「학생」으로만 표시), 글과 올린 날짜가 보입니다. 글 속에 이름이나 연락처 같은 개인정보를 쓰지 않도록 주의해 주세요. 올린 글은 본인이 언제든 「내 글 지우기」로 삭제할 수 있고, 문제당 한 개만 남으며, 신고된 글이나 부적절한 글은 개발자가 숨기거나 삭제합니다. 공유하지 않으면 채점받은 글은 서버에 남지 않습니다.

학습 풀이 기록 (끌 수 있습니다)

레슨 · TOPIK 연습 · 모의고사 · 레벨 테스트 · 낱말 연습 · 문법 연습 · 번역 연습에서 문제를 풀 때마다 어느 문제였는지, 첫 답이 맞았는지, 고른 보기, 걸린 시간, AI 쓰기 점수를 서버에 남겨 맞춤 학습과 문제 개선에 씁니다. 학생이 직접 쓴 글(쓰기 · 번역 · 내 문장)의 내용은 저장하지 않습니다. 로그인하면 계정에 묶이고, 로그인하지 않으면 기기에 만든 무작위 번호로만 남으며 이름 · 이메일은 담기지 않습니다. 쿠키 동의를 하지 않은 로그인 전 방문자의 기록은 보내지 않고, 설정의 「학습 기록」에서 언제든 끌 수 있습니다. 보는 사람은 운영자뿐이며 광고에 쓰지 않고 팔지 않습니다. 또한 로그인하면 약점 지도용 기록(문제 유형별 최근 12번의 맞음 · 틀림 글자열), 학습 스타일(치즈형 · 감자형), 빠르게/차근차근 설정을 계정에 저장해 기기를 바꿔도 이어 씁니다(문제 내용 · 쓴 글은 없음, 계정을 지우면 함께 삭제).

사진, 직접 입력한 단어와 뜻, 발음 테스트에서 인식된 문장, 한국어 도우미에 입력한 질문. 답을 만들기 위해 전송될 뿐 서버에 저장하지 않습니다. 무엇이 언제 나가는지는 아래 4항에 표로 적었습니다.

학습 알림 메일 설정 (선택)

설정에서 「매일 공부 알림 메일」을 직접 켠 경우에만, 켬·끔 상태, 받을 시각, 시간대, 화면 언어, 마지막으로 보낸 날을 저장합니다. 켜기 전에 받는 주소(로그인 이메일)와 보내는 방법을 보여 주고 동의를 받습니다. 광고가 아니며, 설정이나 메일 맨 아래 「그만 받기」로 언제든 끌 수 있습니다.

웹 방문 분석 (웹에서만)

웹은 어떤 화면이 쓰이고 어디서 막히는지 알아보려고 방문 분석 도구를 씁니다. 이름·이메일처럼 누구인지 알 수 있는 정보는 보내지 않습니다.

유럽(EEA · 영국 · 스위스)에서 오신 분에게는 처음 방문할 때 화면 아래에 동의 줄을 띄웁니다. 「OK」를 눌러야 Microsoft Clarity 가 다시 온 방문을 가리는 쿠키를 씁니다. 「No thanks」를 누르면 쿠키 없이 그 쪽만 기록합니다. 고른 것은 그 브라우저에만 저장되며, 브라우저 저장소를 지우면 다시 고를 수 있습니다.

앱에는 방문 분석 도구가 없습니다. 사이트에 광고를 싣지 않으며, 수집한 정보를 팔지 않습니다.

앱 오류 기록 (이름 없이)

앱이 오류를 내면 오류 내용(오류 글과 코드 위치), 앱 버전, 기기 종류(안드로이드 · iOS)와 그 버전, 앱이 꺼졌는지만 서버에 남깁니다. 누구의 기록인지(계정 · 이메일 · 사용자 ID)는 남기지 않습니다. 앱을 한 번 켤 때 다섯 줄까지만 보내며, 오류를 찾아 고치는 데만 씁니다.

기기에만 저장되는 정보 (서버로 전송되지 않음)

화면 테마(다크/라이트), 앱 표시 언어, 프로필 이름 및 사진 경로. 웹에서는 레벨테스트 결과, 로그인하지 않고 끝낸 레슨, 마지막으로 방문한 날짜도 브라우저에만 저장합니다.

수집하지 않는 항목

정확한 위치 정보, 연락처, 통화 기록, 광고 식별자. 앱은 기기 식별자와 이용 행태 분석 정보도 수집하지 않습니다(위의 이름 없는 오류 기록만 남깁니다).

3. 이용 목적

• 계정 정보: 로그인, 본인 단어장 식별
• 콘텐츠: 단어장 저장 및 표시, 학습 진도 관리
• 사진: 단어 카드에 표시, AI 사물 인식(아래 4항 참고)
• AI 기능에 보낸 입력: 그 자리에서 답을 만들기 위해서만(아래 4항 참고)

4. 제3자 처리 위탁

앱과 웹은 아래 서비스를 이용하며, 필요한 범위에서만 정보를 전달합니다.

국외 이전: 위 회사들의 서버는 주로 미국에 있어, 서비스를 쓰는 순간 인터넷으로 그곳에 전송됩니다. 웹 방문 분석 정보는 각 회사가 정한 기간(Google 애널리틱스는 2~14개월, Clarity 화면 녹화는 30일·그 밖의 기록은 최대 13개월) 동안 보관합니다.

AI 기능에 관한 안내

AI 기능을 쓸 때만 전송됩니다. 쓰지 않으면 아무것도 나가지 않고, 모든 학습 기능은 AI 없이도 쓸 수 있습니다.

AI에 보낸 내용은 저장하지 않습니다. 답을 화면에 보여 주기 위해서만 쓰고 데이터베이스에 쌓지 않습니다. 다만 이용자가 그 결과를 단어장에 저장하면 그것은 이용자의 단어장으로 남습니다.

발음 테스트의 음성에 관하여: 녹음 파일은 개발자의 서버로 전송되지 않고 저장하지도 않습니다. 다만 말한 것을 글자로 바꾸는 일은 브라우저에 내장된 음성 인식 기능이 하며, 브라우저(예: 크롬)는 그 처리를 위해 음성을 제조사의 서버로 보낼 수 있습니다. 이 부분은 브라우저 제조사의 방침을 따릅니다.

5. 보관 및 파기

• 정보는 회원 탈퇴 시까지 보관합니다.
• AI 기능에 보낸 입력과 그 답은 보관하지 않습니다. 화면에 보여 준 뒤 사라지며, 이용자가 단어장에 저장한 것만 남습니다.
• 앱 오류 기록은 누구의 것인지 알 수 없는 기록이라, 오류를 고치는 동안 보관하고 고친 뒤 지웁니다.
• 앱의 설정 → 계정 삭제를 누르면 계정, 단어장, 사진이 모두 즉시 영구 삭제됩니다. 자료마당에 올린 자료도 계정과 함께 지워집니다.
• 삭제된 정보는 복구할 수 없습니다. 다만 자료마당에서 다른 사람이 이미 내려받은 파일은 회수할 수 없습니다.
• 법령상 보관 의무가 있는 경우 해당 기간 동안만 보관 후 파기합니다.

6. 이용자의 권리

이용자는 언제든지 아래 권리를 행사할 수 있습니다.

• 열람·수정: 앱과 웹 어느 쪽에서든 단어를 보고, 더하고, 고칠 수 있습니다. 같은 계정이라 한쪽에서 바꾸면 다른 쪽에도 반영됩니다.
• 삭제: 개별 단어 삭제와 계정 삭제를 할 수 있습니다. 단어 삭제는 앱과 웹 양쪽에서, 전체 삭제와 계정 삭제는 앱에서 합니다. 자료마당에 올린 자료는 웹에서 본인이 바로 지울 수 있습니다.
• 학습 설정: 단어장 이름, 공부할 언어, 모국어, 하루 목표, 학습 기간은 앱과 웹 양쪽에서 바꿀 수 있습니다.
• 방문 분석 거부: 브라우저의 추적 방지 기능이나 광고 차단 기능을 켜거나 쿠키를 지우면 기록되지 않습니다. Google 애널리틱스는 차단 부가 기능으로도 끌 수 있습니다. 거부해도 사이트의 모든 기능을 쓸 수 있습니다.
• 신고: 자료마당에서 부적절한 자료를 발견하면 해당 자료의 신고 버튼을 눌러 알려주세요. 확인 후 삭제합니다.
• 문의: 위 방법으로 해결되지 않는 사항은 cheesepotato@everykoreans.com 로 연락 주시면 지체 없이 처리하겠습니다.

7. 접근 권한

사진첩 접근 권한은 요구하지 않습니다. 사진첩에서 이미지를 고를 때는 안드로이드의 시스템 사진 선택기를 이용하며, 여러분이 직접 고른 사진 한 장만 앱에 전달됩니다. 앱은 사진첩 전체를 읽을 수 없습니다.

권한을 거부해도 단어를 직접 입력하는 방식으로 앱의 모든 학습 기능을 쓸 수 있습니다. 권한은 기기의 설정에서 언제든 변경할 수 있습니다.

8. 안전성 확보 조치

• 모든 통신은 HTTPS로 암호화됩니다.
• 비밀번호는 단방향 암호화되어 저장되며 개발자도 원문을 알 수 없습니다.
• 데이터베이스에 행 수준 보안(RLS) 을 적용해, 로그인한 본인만 자신의 데이터에 접근할 수 있습니다.
• 사진은 비공개 저장소에 보관되며, 본인에게만 짧은 시간 유효한 주소가 발급됩니다.
• 자료마당은 올린 파일을 보관하지 않습니다. 브라우저에서 단어와 뜻만 읽어내고 원본은 버리므로, 파일에 딸려 오는 다른 정보가 서버에 남지 않습니다.

9. 아동의 개인정보

앱은 만 14세 미만 아동을 대상으로 하지 않습니다. 만 14세 미만 아동이 보호자 동의 없이 가입한 사실을 알게 되면 해당 계정을 삭제합니다.

10. 변경 고지

이 방침이 변경되면 앱 스토어의 업데이트 내역과 이 페이지를 통해 알립니다. 중요한 변경은 앱 실행 시 별도로 안내합니다.

English

1. Overview

everykoreans ("we") operates the CheesePotato app ("the app") and the website everykoreans.com ("the site"). This policy explains what we collect and how we handle it.

The app and the site share one account. You can sign in to the site with the account you made in the app and vice versa, and both show the same wordbook.

The app has no advertising or analytics SDKs (it only sends anonymous error reports — section 2). The site uses analytics tools (Microsoft Clarity, Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics) to learn how it is used so we can improve it — section 2 says what they record, section 4 who receives it. The site shows no ads, and we never sell data.

2. What we collect

Account — email address and password (stored encrypted; we cannot read it). If you sign in with Google, we receive your email, name, and profile picture from Google. We never receive your Google password.

Free sample and study-news sign-up (web book pages and worksheet pages) — the email address you type into the sample box, whether you ticked “send me study tips and new-book news”, the page you signed up on and your display language. You can also download the sample without giving an email. We send news only to people who ticked the box (or who asked to be told when a specific book is out, in which case we write about that book only), with an unsubscribe link in each message (or write to cheesepotato@everykoreans.com and we delete it). We keep it until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion, and never sell or give it to third parties.

Book reviews (thank-you page) — star rating, review text, an optional name and the checkout id from your payment. We read each review first; only approved reviews appear on the book page (with the name only if you typed one). The checkout id is used only to check that the review comes from a buyer and is never shown. To delete a review, write to cheesepotato@everykoreans.com.

Your content — words and meanings, photos you take or choose, difficulty and memorization status, view counts, and study settings (wordbook name, languages, daily goal, study period, start date), profile name and picture.

Word lists you share on the site (⚠️ these become public) — if you upload a word list to the site's Library, the following becomes visible to anyone, including people who are not signed in:

We do not keep the file you upload. Your browser reads out the words and meanings, and the original file is discarded on the spot. Your full email address is never shown.

If you would rather not publish, simply do not upload. You can delete anything you shared at any time — though files other people already downloaded cannot be recalled. We remove inappropriate submissions.

Friend invites — if you sign up with an invite link, we store who invited whom (two account IDs and a date) and the bonus Pro period. The inviter never sees the other person's email or name, and it is deleted with the account.

Sharing your TOPIK writing answer (optional · ⚠️ becomes public) — after AI scoring of TOPIK writing 53/54, only if you tick the share box and press “Share”, your text is shown under the same question to anyone, including people who are not signed in. Your name and email are not shown (it appears only as “Student”), just the text and the date. Please do not write personal details such as names or contact information in it. You can remove it any time with “Remove mine”; only one answer per question is kept; reported or inappropriate answers are hidden or deleted by us. If you do not share, your scored text is not kept on our servers.

Learning log (you can switch it off) — when you answer a question in lessons, TOPIK practice, mock tests, the level test, word practice, grammar practice or translation practice, we store which question it was, whether your first answer was right, the option you picked, how long it took, and your AI writing score to tailor your practice and improve our questions. We do not store what you typed (writing, translation, your own sentences). When you are signed in it is tied to your account; otherwise it is tied only to a random number made on your device — no name or email. We do not send it for visitors who have not accepted cookies, and you can turn it off any time under “Learning log” in Settings. Only the operator can view it; it is not used for ads and is never sold. If you sign in, we also save your weak-spot record (the last 12 right/wrong results per question type), your learning style (Cheese or Potato type) and your Quick/Steady setting to your account so they follow you across devices (no question text or writing; deleted with your account).

Input sent to AI features (not stored) — photos, words and meanings you type, the text recognized in the pronunciation test, and questions you type into the Korean helper. These are sent only to produce an answer and are never stored on our servers. Section 4 lists exactly what goes where.

Study reminder email settings (optional) — only if you switch on “Daily study reminder email” in Settings, we store whether it is on, your chosen time, your time zone, your display language and the date of the last email. Before it turns on we show you the address (your sign-in email) and how it is sent, and ask you to agree. It is not advertising, and you can turn it off any time in Settings or with “Stop” at the bottom of the email.

Site analytics (website only) — to see which screens are used and where people get stuck, the site uses analytics tools. Nothing that identifies you, such as your name or email, is sent. They record the screens you visit, time spent, clicks and scrolling; device and browser type, screen size and approximate region (inferred from your IP address); how you arrived (search terms, referring site); a cookie or similar identifier to recognise return visits; and, with Microsoft Clarity, a recording of how the screen moved — text you type and your wordbook are masked and never recorded. Visitors from Europe (EEA, UK, Switzerland) see a consent bar at the bottom of the screen on their first visit. Microsoft Clarity uses its return-visit cookie only after you press “OK”; with “No thanks” it records that page without cookies. Your choice is stored only in that browser — clear the browser's storage to choose again. The app has no analytics. The site shows no ads, and we never sell data.

App error reports (anonymous) — when the app hits an error, we keep only the error message and code location, the app version, the device platform (Android/iOS) and its version, and whether the app closed. We do not record who it came from (no account, email or user ID). At most five reports per app launch, used only to find and fix bugs.

Stored only on your device — theme preference, app language, profile name and photo path; on the site, also your level-test result, lessons you finished without signing in, and the date of your last visit. These are never sent to our servers.

We do not collect precise location, contacts, call logs, or advertising identifiers. The app also collects no device identifiers or usage analytics (only the anonymous error reports above).

3. How we use it

To sign you in, store and display your wordbook, and track your study progress. Anything sent to an AI feature is used only to produce that one answer, and only when you use the feature (section 4). Anonymous error reports are used to fix bugs in the app. Site analytics are used to find the screens people use and where they get stuck, and to measure whether promotion worked.

4. Third-party processors

About the AI features

Nothing is sent unless you use an AI feature. Every study feature works without them.

We do not store what is sent to AI. It is used only to show you an answer and is never written to our database. Anything you then save to your wordbook is of course kept — because you saved it.

About the recording: the audio never reaches our servers and is never stored by us. However, turning speech into text is done by your browser's built-in speech recognition, and a browser (Chrome, for example) may send that audio to its own servers to do so. That part is governed by your browser vendor's policy.

International transfer: these companies' servers are mainly in the United States, and data is sent there over the internet when the service is used. Site analytics are kept for the period each company sets (2–14 months for Google Analytics; 30 days for Clarity recordings and up to 13 months for its other data).

5. Retention and deletion

We keep your data until you delete your account. Anonymous app error reports are kept while we fix the bug and deleted afterwards. Input sent to AI features, and the answers, are not retained — they disappear once shown, and only what you saved to your wordbook remains. Settings → Delete account permanently removes your account, words, and photos immediately — including anything you shared in the site's Library. Deleted data cannot be recovered, and files other people already downloaded cannot be recalled.

6. Your rights

You can view, add and edit words in either the app or the site — it is one account, so a change in one shows up in the other. Study settings (wordbook name, languages, daily goal, study period) can be changed in both places too.

Deleting a single word works in both. Deleting all words and deleting your account are done in the app. Word lists you shared in the Library can be removed by you on the site.

Opting out of site analytics: turn on your browser's tracking protection or an ad blocker, or clear cookies, and nothing is recorded. Google Analytics can also be switched off with its opt-out add-on. Every feature of the site still works.

Found something inappropriate in the Library? Use the report button on that entry and we will review and remove it.

7. Permissions

Camera and Notifications are both optional. Denying them still lets you use every study feature by entering words manually.

We do not request photo library access. Picking an image uses the Android system photo picker, which hands the app only the single photo you chose. The app cannot read your photo library.

You can change permissions in your device settings at any time.

8. Security

All traffic is encrypted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed one-way. The database enforces row-level security so only you can reach your own rows. Photos live in a private bucket and are served through short-lived signed URLs.

The Library never stores uploaded files. The browser reads out only the words and meanings and discards the original, so nothing else that a spreadsheet might carry ever reaches our servers.

9. Children

The app is not directed at children under 14. If we learn that a child under 14 has registered without parental consent, we will delete the account.

10. Changes

We will announce changes through the app store release notes and this page.
