Turning Descriptive Words into Adverbs (-게)

Attaching -게 to an adjective stem transforms it into an adverb meaning *“-ly”* or *“in a ... way”*:

- 크다 → 크게 *(loudly / largely)*: 음악을 크게 틀었어요.
- 쉽다 → 쉽게 *(easily)*: 시험문제를 쉽게 풀었어요.
- 예쁘다 → 예쁘게 *(prettily / nicely)*: 머리를 예쁘게 잘랐어요.

Notice that -게 attaches directly to the adjective stem without changing based on batchim! However, a few common adjectives have irregular or independent adverb twins: 많다 → 많이, 빠르다 → 빨리, 깨끗하다 → 깨끗이.
