Korean has two number systems. That sounds terrible and is actually fine, because they do different jobs and you can learn one at a time.
This is the one that matters first, because it is the one prices use.
만 = 10,000. Korean counts in units of ten thousand, not thousand. A 10,000-won note is 만 원. Coffee at 5,000 is 오천 원.
