1. 얼마 (Price / Amount / Quantity):
- Directly asks for cost or amount:
- *“이거 얼마예요?”* *(How much is this?)*
- *“시간이 얼마나 걸려요?”* *(How much time does it take?)*
2. 무슨 + Noun (Category / Broad Open What):
- Inquires about a broad category or type without any limited pre-set choices:
- Frequent collocations: 무슨 음식 *(what food)*, 무슨 일 *(what matter/issue)*, 무슨 색깔 *(what color)*, 무슨 음악 *(what music)*:
- *“무슨 음식을 좋아해요?”* *(What food do you like?)*
3. 어떤 + Noun (Characteristics / Traits / Nature):
- Focuses on the qualities, personality, appearance, or feelings of a noun:

4. 어느 + Noun (Which — from a Defined / Limited Set):
- Used when selecting from a specific, limited set of candidates (countries, specific items, directions):
