Now let’s explore the three words that ask about circumstances, reasons, and procedures:

1. 언제 (When):
- Inquires about time, dates, or days:
- *“생일이 언제예요?”* *(When is your birthday?)*
- *“언제 한국에 왔어요?”* *(When did you come to Korea?)*
- *(Notice: 언제 already holds temporal meaning, so you do NOT add the particle 에 to it — just say 언제, never 언제에!)*

2. 왜 (Why):
- Asks for reasons and motives:
- *“왜 한국어를 배워요?”* *(Why do you study Korean?)*
- Natural responses use reason connectors you already mastered: -아/어서, -(으)니까, or -기 때문에! (*“한국 노래가 좋아서 배워요.”*)

3. 어떻게 (How / In what way):
- Inquires about methods, means of transportation, or procedures:
- *“회사에 어떻게 가요?”* *(How do you go to work?)*
- Natural responses pair with the means particle (으)로 (learned in bg-31!): *“지하철로 가요.”* *(I go by subway.)*
