While -아/어 봤어요 talks about casually trying something, -(으)ㄴ 적이 있다 / 없다 refers to whether an event has ever happened in your life (*“I have had the experience of...”* or *“I have never...”*):
- Stem without batchim → -ㄴ 적이 있다/없다 *(가다 → 간 적이 있어요)*
- Stem with batchim → -은 적이 있다/없다 *(먹다 → 먹은 적이 있어요)*
The ㄹ Rule: Stems ending in ㄹ drop the ㄹ: 살다 → 산 적이 있어요, 만들다 → 만든 적이 있어요!
