부정하기: 안과 못

Korean has two different “not”, and picking the wrong one changes what you are saying about yourself.

The 하다 trap

With [noun + 하다] verbs, 안 goes inside, between the noun and 하다. 공부 안 해요 — not 안 공부해요.

The long forms

-지 않다 and -지 못하다 mean the same as 안 and 못, but sound a little more written. 가지 않아요 = 안 가요.
