Softening Opinions with 것 같아요

In Korean culture, directly stating an opinion or fact (like 너무 매워요 or 재미없어요) can sometimes sound blunt or harsh.

Native speakers often use -(으)ㄴ/는 것 같다 to soften their opinions, making their speech sound polite, modest, and considerate:

- 조금 비싼 것 같아요. *(I think it's a bit expensive, softer than 비싸요)*
- 이 옷이 더 잘 어울리는 것 같아요. *(I think this outfit suits you better)*
- 민수 씨가 지금 바쁜 것 같아요. *(Minsu seems busy right now)*

Pair it with 조금 (*a little*) or 제 생각에는 (*in my opinion*)!
