하지 마세요 · 6분
To politely say “Please do not do X”, attach -지 마세요 directly to the verb stem.
There are no vowel harmony changes and no batchim exceptions! Simply take the stem and add -지 마세요.
가다 (to go)가- · 가지 마세요 (Please don't go)
먹다 (to eat)먹- · 먹지 마세요 (Please don't eat)
보다 (to look)보- · 보지 마세요 (Please don't look)
걱정하다 (to worry)걱정하- · 걱정하지 마세요 (Please don't worry)
담배를 피우다 (to smoke)피우- · 피우지 마세요 (Please don't smoke)
걱정하지 마세요.Please don’t worry. (Extremely frequent expression!)
가지 마세요.Please don’t go.
