Lesson 3. 에 for time
There Is, There Isn’t — 있어요 / 없어요 · 5분
The same 에 also marks when something happens.
세 시에 만나요. — Let’s meet at three.
월요일에 가요. — I go on Monday.
A few time words refuse 에. 오늘 · 어제 · 내일 · 지금 · 매일 take no particle at all.
내일 만나요. (○)
내일에 만나요. (✗)
There is no rule to derive here — these are simply the common ones, and they are common enough that you will absorb them fast.
아침에 커피를 마셔요.I drink coffee in the morning.
주말에 뭐 해요?What do you do on the weekend?
내일 학교에 가요.I go to school tomorrow. 내일 takes no 에 — but 학교 does.
